It depends on your needs. MetaMask is better for Ethereum/EVM DeFi users — it has the widest dApp compatibility and is the default wallet for nearly every Ethereum-based protocol. Trust Wallet is better for multi-chain users who want Bitcoin, Solana, and 100+ chains in a single app. Both are free and non-custodial.
Is Trust Wallet safe even though Binance owns it? +
Trust Wallet is non-custodial — your private keys are stored on your device, not on Binance servers. The wallet is open-source, so the code is auditable. However, some privacy-conscious users prefer MetaMask (owned by Consensys) to avoid any data-sharing concerns with Binance. In practice, both wallets are considered safe for everyday use.
Can MetaMask hold Bitcoin? +
No. MetaMask only supports EVM-compatible chains (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, BSC, etc.). It cannot hold native Bitcoin. If you need both Ethereum and Bitcoin in one wallet, Trust Wallet or Exodus are better options. For Bitcoin specifically, a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor is recommended.
